CMMC N.V. / Princess Port De Plaisance Resort and Casino
North Harbor Design Development and Management
In late 1999 CMMC N.V. was brought in to re-open Port de Plaisance Yacht Club and prepare it for immediate operational use, this being a result of the devastation due to Hurricane Luis in 1995. In preparation for opening, my team was responsible for dredging of the facility, upgrading and repairing all utility services and installation of a new fuel depot, tank farm and delivery service.
In 2001, my team and I designed, planned and supervised construction on the “North Harbor” facility at Port de Plaisance, which is a 60 slip, fully dedicated mega yacht facility, handling yachts up to 300’ in length. Additionally, our responsibilities at the Yacht Club included all aspects of the business. The facility is respected as one of the finest Mega Yacht facilities in the Caribbean and has enjoyed phenomenal success in both occupancy as well as its profitability. In December of 2000, I was asked by the company’s owner to take the temporary position of CEO and Group Coordinator of all Princess International properties, in Sint Maarten and Belize. These responsibilities included the overall management for a four star- 88 room; time-share resort, a three star 250 room resort and marina four restaurants, 5 casinos, a health club and of course the ( 2 ) yacht clubs. While in this position our team was responsible for the reduction in overall expenses by over 23% annually, while increasing revenues by 16%.
