St. John, Virgin Islands Marina Selects Technomarine
After 5 years of careful planning and permitting, the St. John Marina is moving forward with full final design, engineering, production, and all technical aspects of pre-construction. According to the developer, Summer’s End principal Chaliese Summers, “We’re excited to be working with Technomarine to design and build a sustainably developed marina facility that will help protect the environment, grow the local economy and service a market that has been frustrated for decades by the lack of friendly access in the form of a marina here on St. John.”
The 5 star, $40M project consists of a $14M marina component providing in-slip fueling, wastewater pump out, advanced electrical service, potable water and Wi-Fi. Onshore, YCSE guests will enjoy the conveniences of a U.S. Customs Office, modern crew facilities, concierge services, fresh produce and catch of the day at the Fish & Farmer’s Market, complete yacht provisioning, gourmet wine and cheese shop, restaurants, shopping and a wide variety of entertainment and authentic Caribbean experience options.
Technomarine Group, Inc. Chairman & CEO Erik Sanderson, with a firm pulse of the market says the sailing, yachting and charter world is literally waiting in line for the St. John Marina. “All Caribbean sailing, charter and yachting markets are experiencing healthy growth, but the mega yacht segment is exploding and St. John is a preferred destination of the space.”
Marine Management and Consulting, Inc. Chairman Jeff Boyd, marina consultant and project manager for the St. John Marina couldn’t agree more. “I’ve always said that if I could build a marina anywhere in the Caribbean, it’d be St. John. The island itself is breathtaking, and the location of The Yacht Club at Summer’s End is literally the gateway to some of the most beautiful yachting and sailing waters on the planet.”
The development team for the St. John Marina, including Technomarine, MMC and other industry leading experts combine for over 150 years of marina, commercial development and construction experience accounting with over 900 marinas in application globally to date. YCSE developer Chaliese Summers says she looks forward to the grand opening of The Yacht Club at Summer’s End with great anticipation as they currently near 50 slip requests without any marketing or advertising.
